RGVN began this initiative in 2008 with initial support from SDTT. With time NABARD, Power Grid Corporation Limited of India and the Numaligarh Refinery Limited also supported the initiative. The project involves promotion and awareness through meetings, training programmes and developing Master Trainers from among the progressive farmers who again promote the concept of SRI to the farmers and follow up.

NRL project on SRI

RGVN is implementing the second phase of the SRI promotion around Numaligarh Refinery Limited targeting 500 farmers. Master Trainers were trained at the RGVN Head Office on 1^st Oct 2012. The project is funded by NRL.

RGVN has conducted several awareness cum training programmes around the Numaligarh Refinery Limited area during the second phase. 200 kilograms of rice seeds were provided to 200 farmers after the completion of the first stage of the awareness programme.

SDTT SRI Project.

Under this project, during the Bodo season 2979 farmers were covered in 8 districts of Assam. During the Sali season 4388 farmers were covered in 8 districts of Assam.

Power Grid SRI project

The Power Grid Corporation Limited of India has agreed to allot RGVN 3 districts for promoting SRI technology. The districts are Rangia, Kampur and Balipara.
