About the project:

SELCO Foundation, a charitable Trust registered under Indian Trust Act with its registered office at Bangalore, has entered into a partnership with RGVN to implement a project titled ‘Providing Solar Home Lighting Solutions for Goalpara District, Assam.

Objective: Overall, 50 Solar Home Lighting Solutions (HLS) and 5 Solar Machines for Livelihoods are proposed in the area.

Activities:

• Besides providing Solar Powered Home-Lighting Systems to households in a few villages under Krishnai Block of Goalpara district, the project also offers various solar-powered devices to small business enterprises, such as for running a xerox machine shop, a rice huller etc. in electricity-deficient areas.
• With the grant received from SELCO Foundation, the solar powered systems have been procured from an SF authorized retail shop. However, the systems are provided to the beneficiaries on hire purchase/ revolving fund/ EMI basis.
• Overall, 50 Solar Home Lighting Solutions (HLS) and 5 Solar Machines for Livelihoods are proposed in the area.
