Survey & Analytrix is a vertical of RGVN to carry out research, studies, surveys, monitoring and evaluation on various developmental, social, and economic issues and projects pertaining to northeastern states with special emphasis on the state of Assam. The wing is associated with various Government and Non-Government stakeholders. It has a dedicated team of qualified professionals and a widespread field force across northeastern states.


Completed and ongoing research, surveys and studies:

Type studies for updating rates and ratios used in GSDP estimation for subsistence fishing

The study computed the rates in terms of quantity and value of subsistence fishing as a percentage of the total production of fishing and highlights the related economic impact of subsistence fishing in terms of output and employment in the state of Assam.


Baseline and Endline Survey of Knowledge, Attitude and Practices (KAP) of Voters in Assam

The Survey & Analytrix team has conducted a total of four Baseline and End-line surveys on the Knowledge, Attitude and Practices of voters in the state of Assam. The broad objectives of the studies are to assess the voter registration process, understand the knowledge, attitude, behaviour, beliefs and practices of voters with respect to the previous assembly and parliamentary elections and the awareness and knowledge of the electoral process.


Impact Assessment Study of Four CSR Projects of Numaligarh Refinery Ltd.

The broad objectives of the study (i) To assess the impact of the project “Niramoy”, a healthcare process to give access to the underprivileged section of society through mobile medical camp; (ii) To assess the impact of two outgoing batches of VKNRL School of Nursing; (iii) To study the impact of Covid Care Block at Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH) by NRL as its CSR initiative and (iv) To study the impact of setting up of paediatric oncology ward at B. Barooah Cancer Institute by NRL.


Baseline Survey of Small Tea Growers of Udalguri District

The overall purpose of the assignment is to conduct a baseline study to assess the demographic profile of the small tea growers, assess the overall income from tea and other subsidiary product cultivation and identify the various challenges faced by the small tea growers in the Udalguri district of Assam.


An Assessment of “Economic Viability of Modern Integrated Fish Landing Centre (FLC)” in Chunari Goalpara, Assam

The office of the Director of Fisheries, Government of Assam, has entrusted Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi for the assessment of the Economic Viability of Modern Integrated Fish Landing Centres (FLCs) in the Chunari area of Goalpara district, Assam. The study examines the feasibility of setting up a Fish landing Centre at Chunari, which would enable the fishermen in the area to increase their income. The feasibility of the proposed FLC at Chunari was examined in light of what appeared to be an essential requirement for avoiding excessive spoilage, enabling fishermen from the Goalpara district and other regions to access the facility. The required information was collected by conducting a survey in the Chunari fish market of Goalpara district, where several respondents associated with fishing were interviewed.


Type Study on Animal Products & By-Products

The consumption of animal products and by-products has continued to witness a tremendous growth over the last decade. Therefore, a type study was conducted under Directorate of Economics and Statistics, to provide updated rates and ratios used in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) estimation for Animal meat products and by-products as well as Milk Production, to value of animal meat production.


Survey on the Output, Employment and Growth in the Fishery Sector in Assam

Fishery being the sunrise sector of Assam. Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Assam has assigned our team to conduct a study in the Fishery Sector where the main objectives are

  1. To determine the output inclusive of commercial fishing, subsistence fishing and fish curing from fishery sector in Assam;
  2. To determine the value addition from Fishery sector;
  3. To determine the input and output of ornamental fish in the state of Assam;
  4. To determine the employment (direct & indirect) from fishery sector in Assam; and
  5. To study growth of fishery sector in the state.

Survey on Contribution of sericulture to the GSDP of Assam

The purpose of the study is to estimate the contribution of sericulture to the GSDP of Assam under the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Asam. The state of Assam is proud of traditionally producing Eri, Muga and Mulberry silks. Therefore, the study will cover seventeen districts of the state that engaged in production of the Eri, Muga and Mulberry silks. The main objectives of the study-

  1. To prepare the standard methodology for calculation of state income from silk and silk industry.
  2. To collect income from various sources of sericulture activities.
  3. To assess the annual production of the Eri, Muga and Mulberry.
  4. To study the market rates for different transition phase products of silk production and their by-products.
  5. Toevaluate the various value addition activities in raw silk and silk yarn production and the income and employment generated from them.

Survey to Determine the Output & Employment from Tourism in Assam

The state of Assam is culturally rich and diverse as it has many heritage buildings and monuments like Ahom Raja’s Palace, Rang Ghar Pavilions, Rangamati Mosque, etc. along  with many religious sites such as Kamakhya Temple, Umananda Temple, Rudreswar Temple and many others. Therefore, the main objective of the study is to determine the output and employment from Tourism in Assam, the accounting framework of Tourism Satellite Accounts (TSA) are followed in the study. The study covers all the popular destination of Assam. The study was conducted under Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Government of Assam.


Evaluation of role of SMC/SMDC in school functioning and management

We are conducting a study on “Role of SMC/SMDC in school functioning and management” under Samagra Siksha Axom, Government of Assam. The study will cover Charaideo, Lakhimpur, Golaghat, Dhemaji, West KarbiAnglong, Kamrup and Majuli districts of Assam. The objectives of the study are- 1) to asses the role SMC/SMDC in management and functioning of school with respect to increasing enrolment, reducing dropout, enhancement of quality of learning.2) To monitor the school activities by SMC/SMDCs 3) To assess the School development plan(SDP)/School Improvement plan (SIP) and its implementation. plan (SIP implementation.


Evaluation of Trend of Enrolment in Government and Private Schools in Urban and Rural Areas of Assam and Analysis of the reasons thereof

The objectives of the Study are – (i) Study the factors of Enrolment as well as reasons for Dropout in the Government and Private schools and measures taken  for the prevention of dropout; (ii) Identifying the gaps in implementation of policy decisions on improvement of school education; (iii) Identifying the challenges especially in Tea Garden,Char and Hilly areas.


Study on “Utilization of Library books and reading proficiency of children”

Attainment of proficiency in reading is one of the most essential pre-requisites for achieving Learning Outcomes of other subject areas. In order to promote reading habits amongst students and to improve proficiency in reading, library books are being provided to schools by the state government. Samagra Shiksa Abhigyan Assam has assigned this study to understand the awareness level of stakeholders on the importance of inculcating and improving children’s reading habits through utilization of the library books.


Evaluation on Functioning of Special Training Centres in Assam

As per the RTE Act 2009, every child belonging to the age group of 6 to 14 years is entitled for getting quality elementary education. However, it has been observed that a significant number of children belonging to the age group of above 6 years has still not been admitted in the schools. Therefore, the govt. through the support of the Special Training Centres attempted to reduce this gap thereby fulfilling the mandate as mentioned in the Act. Hence, this study aims at evaluating the functions of the STCs and study the efficiency of the measures taken by them to counter the issue.


Longitudinal Study on the Impact on Residential Training of Science Teachers of Secondary Level

Since there is a concern of decreased Science stream enrolment in higher secondary level and to popularize the science subject from lower classes so that students find it interesting and will opt for it in the higher classes, hence in this study, we are looking into specific aspects of teaching methods, student’s engagement and overall professional development that developed after the teachers were given training on an upgraded course.  The objective is to find out how this type of training affects the teaching techniques, their ability to convey complex scientific concepts, including diverse teaching styles and even their overall enthusiasm for teaching.
