The NRLM has recently sanctioned a proposal submitted by RGVN and other Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT) supported partners amounting to 1612 lakh for 14000 women farmers in the districts of Dhemaji, Chirang, Baska, Nalbari, Barpeta and Rural Kamrup. RGVN is the lead agency in the project and the implementing agency in the Barpeta District, with CML as the facilitating partner. Other organizations in the consortium are GVM, Aphro, SESTA, and Grameen Sahara which will be implementing the project in the selected districts. Under the project NRLM will fund 89 per cent of the project, while the remaining will be funded by SDTT. The project will build the capacities of 280 Community Resource Persons and build community structures like nursery units, diversion based irrigation, low cost irrigation systems, low cost water lifting devices, vermicompost, grain storage centres and fishery pond improvement.
